Anyone who would like to know what computers are all about, why we use them and how to use them.

Anyone who already uses computers and would like to understand them better so that they really know what they are doing.

Are there prerequisites?
Delegates need have no previous experience as this course starts with the very basics.

  • Laying out, typing, editing and correcting a letter

  • Formatting text
  • Preparing a document for printing

Second half day

  • Short revision of first half day
  • Exploring the computer’s filing system
  • Finding files saved earlier
  • Creating new folders
  • Moving files and folders
  • Simple rules for saving files so that they can be found again
  • Removing unwanted files

  • How to access the Internet
  • Using the Internet to search for information
  • Refining a search to find more useful information
  • Copying and pasting text and pictures into Word
  • Creating an email account
  • Sending and receiving emails
  • Sending and opening attachments
  • Logging out of an email account
