Introduction to Illustrator
Who should attend?
First time or inexperienced Illustrator users or more experienced users of vector editing programs who would like to ensure they know the efficient tools and techniques to quickly and easily create and edit drawings and text for logos and documents print, or for importing to print or web programs. Users of CorelDraw will find this a relatively easy program to migrate towards.
Are there prerequisites?
Delegates will be expected to have good experience of this or other programs. It is not an appropriate first program.
How is the course structured?
100% HANDS-ON TRAINING. This is a structured but fun one-day course with an expert trainer who uses intensive training techniques to help delegates explore the important features of this market leading vector editing program.
What is provided?
FREE: A very useful and easy to follow training manual.
FREE: Workshop sessions are available the Saturday after the training (you would be expected to practice your new skills between the course and the workshop).
What will be covered? |
· The toolbars, tools, commands, adjustment measurement boxes and palettes of Illustrator |
· Understanding vectors, and colour modes for print or the web, and exploring Illustrator’s creative and precise drawing methods, with the use of guides and smart guides |
· Creating basic shapes, strokes and fills, including complex lines, gradients, patterns and stroke methods |
· Using both paragraph-style text and creative text, exploring typographical techniques and text as a graphics feature |
· Using transforming tools, palettes and techniques to align, distribute, distort, warp, blends and pathfinders |
· Saving images for print and publication for web and print programs, and for import to Microsoft programs |
